Little information has been released in the death of a 16-year-old girl who jumped from a moving vehicle on Interstate 10 near Baytown Sunday night.

According to the Baytown Police Department, the girl, whose name has not been released, leaped from the car, while it was traveling on Interstate 10 near Thompson Road around 9:45 p.m. Sunday evening.

The details of the case, such as who was in the vehicle with the girl, why she might have exited the car while it was traveling on the freeway, or the final destination of the vehicle have not been released by the police department.

The investigation into her death is still ongoing.
