Not much…

happening in the greater Houston area - crime-wise that is. What follows is a quick recap…for your edification.

*It seems there has been a recent incidence of police impersonation. The report is that a ‘fake’ cop flashed red and blue lights at a woman which she took as an indication for her to pull over - in the Woodlands area in the wee hours of the morning. He proceeded to search her car, scattering items on the ground before threatening to issue a ‘warning’ citation - after which he got into his car and left. Ladies - do not exit your vehicle unless you have validated that the person pulling you over is an officer - and why you are being stopped. Do not stop your vehicle on a dark road. Get the officer’s badge number, call the police organization he represents - simply make good choices so you stay safe.

*In another case a suspect has been shot by police. The man is an alleged major ‘player’ in the ongoing drug war down here in Texas. He was taken to the hospital - no other information is available at this time.

*Finally, a couple of robberies have made the news as well. In one case thieves made off with copper to the tune of thousands of dollars and in another case a woman removed items from a woman’s closet and returned them to the pricey retail establishment from which they were purchased on several occasions before the homeowner caught on.
