I’m going to go…

out on a limb here and make a prediction about a case that has (what else) caught the media’s attention. It involves the man who shot and killed the husband of his (according to him not her) purported lover in front of his children at a day care center.

I am opining about the fact that he claims two famous celebrities ‘told him’ to shoot the man. The news person who reported this could hardly keep a straight face in the retelling. Now, my conjecture in light of this is that - the jury may have a little trouble buying into this story as well.

As a criminal defense attorney I would never second-guess the defense offered by a colleague. Frankly we all hear some pretty strange things in the course of our work. I will, however, provide my personal conjecture on jury buy-in - because I have seen it first hand after hundreds of defense presentations I myself have made.

And I gotta say - I’m not feeling the ‘buy-in’.
