I’m talking about rape. Headlines are blaring about another young man who has admitted a role in the gang rape of a young girl nearly two years ago. In all, to date, nearly two dozen young men have either been implicated or otherwise found complicit in a series of sexual assaults that occurred to this little girl over a series of what looks to be months. A number of the boys involved in the incident are juveniles as well and have received lengthy (7 years for some) probation sentences as a result of their admissions of guilt. At least one of the young men will be able to avoid registering as a sex offender if he fulfills the conditions of his probation.
Certainly this case is one for the sociology textbooks and child psychologists. Beyond that, I have no comment. The point of addressing it was simply as an FYI.
